Temi Toys Bobby Car Shop

As some of you know, in summer I started my own online retail shop. I thought it was time to actually do what I keep preaching my eCommerce clients.

I had the intention for a long time, but never had the right product. Funny enough that I had it in my house for more than a year before I realised it: The Bobby Car. In April 2008 I wanted to get this German ride-on toy for my son. It turned out that the cheapest way of getting hold of the Bobby Car in the UK was to import it from Amazon Germany.

It was only a year later when I realised that this could be the ideal toy that the UK was waiting for (of course I would think that). The idea of BIG Bobby Car Shop was born.

Developing the website surely was not the problem. But there there is a lot more stuff to consider before starting your own eCommerce. In the next few weeks I will tell you more about my retail adventure: Marketing, SEO, link building, cross site selling, automation, third party fulfilment, courier services, suppliers. Each of these topics deserves its own story. So expect more.

Do you have any experience in eCommerce? Have you ever set up a shop? I would like to hear read your comments and please post a link to your site.
